Hyundai Motor Group unveiled the direction and results of PBV, purpose built vehicle.

Hyundai Motor Group held a "UX Tech Day 2022" event in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and unveiled the direction and results of PBV, purpose built vehicle.
At this event, we were able to see the actual technology implemented or made of wood to develop the concept of the PBV that Hyundai Motor Group will release in 2025.
Lighting, seat angle, and display will be changed to an optimized form depending on the usual driving mode, office mode at work, and relaxation mode for rest.
Based on the PBV-only electric vehicle platform that Hyundai Motor Group is developing with the goal of 2025, it was developed under the concept of "Airport Pickup PBV" that carries airport travelers.
In addition, it is equipped with a door system that maximizes the width of opening so that wheelchairs can easily enter and exit considering the convenience of boarding for the weak in transportation.
Hyundai Transys introduced a 'multipurpose mobility seat system' that considers the lifestyle of each user.
It has implemented 10 integrated scenario modes that optimize the indoor environment according to various situations that passengers can experience, such as bio-signal analysis technology for the vulnerable and increased indoor space utilization for family passengers with infants.
Hyundai Mobis introduced a 'mode conversion cockpit' that enhances the convenience of passengers of autonomous vehicles.
Depending on the three modes: drive mode, office mode, and relaxation mode, lighting, seat angle, display, and operating system will be changed to a form optimized for users. Applying this technology to PBVs that carry multiple people can change bench-shaped seats depending on the number of passengers and body type.

The event highlighted the company's work on developing a purpose-built vehicle platform for electric vehicles that can be tailored to specific needs, such as for airport pickups or for people with disabilities. The technology on display included a 'multipurpose mobility seat system' that can be configured for different passengers, and a 'mode conversion cockpit' that changes the interior depending on the mode (driving, office, relaxation). This shows that the company is focused on creating a comfortable and user-friendly experience for all passengers.

Although it is convenient for everyone, it can be considered as an industry that is becoming less and less fun for lovers who are familiar with existing cars.
