KB Kookmin Card analyzed the trend of consumption of soldiers before and after enlistment through sales data of Nara Sarang Card members.

Based on the data, it seems that the soldiers are using their credit cards more frequently in the months leading up to their discharge from the military. It is likely that they are using their credit cards more for online shopping during this time as they prepare for their vacation and discharge.

KB Kookmin Card announced on the 3rd that it analyzed the trend of consumption of soldiers before and after enlistment through sales data of Nara Sarang(Country Love) Card members from January 2020 to June 2022.
According to a survey on the number of credit and check card use cases of soldiers during their military service after joining the military, 37% of the total was used in PX, and 37% of the amount of use was used.

In the 15-18 months, the number of monthly use increased by 41%, and the amount of monthly use increased by 80% compared to before enlistment, showing an increase in consumption ahead of discharge.
It is estimated that the use of online shopping is increasing to prepare for vacation and discharge.
The most active period at PX is three to eight months after joining the military, with the proportion of use cases rising to 46% and the amount of use rising to 44%.
According to the monthly number of credit/check card use before and after military enlistment, the number of monthly use increased by 18% and the monthly amount decreased by 35% at one to two months after military enlistment compared to before military enlistment, showing a consumption pattern of paying a small amount several times.

An official from KB Kookmin Card Data Strategy Group said, "We were able to grasp the consumption trend of Generation Z soldiers through Nara Sarang Card," adding, "We will continue to conduct analysis to understand various generations in depth in the future."

Nara Sarang Card is a commercial card service that young male Korean are automatically issued in South Korea, which has a mandatory recruitment system. It is an interesting situation in which financial companies can analyze almost all data of a specific gender and a specific age group.
