Klaytn: A Global Layer 1 Platform Based on High Performance?

In the keynote speech at Korea Blockchain Week 2022, Seo Sang-min, chairman of the Klaytn Foundation, predicted that based on high accessibility and transparency in the future metaverse will function as a space and platform for many people and create great synergy with blockchain and web3.

100% compatibility with Ethereum has made it easier to link development tools, and more development opportunities can be expected on the Klaytn platform. In addition, it will establish a new support system for Wormhole, the largest bridge in the world, to increase convenience among global users.

It will also select its first research team at the world's first Web 3.0 method "Blockchain Research Center," which was launched for the first time this year, and will start blockchain research in earnest.
The team is a group of researchers who have played a pioneering role and consists of researchers from the United States, Singapore, and Korea.

Chairman Seo said, "As Klaytn is already preoccupying the technological advantage to popularize blockchain, we will try to establish a position as a global Layer 1 platform based on high performance," adding, "We are currently focusing on blockchain games to build an environment that can incorporate blockchain into metaverse, and we will work harder to improve our technology."

"It provides an improved user experience as it shows 1-second block confirmation that other mainnets have not realized and the shortest latency in comparative experiments with Global Layer 1," he said.
