Nitro Studio to Conduct Test for Cross-Platform Play with the Aim of Global Launch

Nexon started a pre-registration event for its new global work "Kartrider: Drift" on the 18th, ahead of its official launch.
Nexon released five new game promotional videos of "Kartrider: Drift" on the same day.
Nexon is planning to conduct a test to check cross platform play in September with the aim of stable global launch.
Seo Jae-woo, CEO of Nitro Studio, said, “Kartrider: Drift, which provides a full cross platform environment for the first time in Nexon, has begun last-minute development to provide a perfect racing experience considering the characteristics of each device.”
In addition to recently added mobile devices, it supports various platforms such as PCs and consoles. Nitro Studio is an internal development studio located in Korea and has been responsible for the development of games including "Kartrider" series.
Kartrider: Drift is a formal sequel based on Nexon's mega -hit IP, Katrider, and introduces 4K UHD graphics and HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology to provide a more realistic driving experience.
Nexon holds a pre-registration event on its official website and provides characters as compensation for participation. If you select the character you want from the event page to create a lineup image and share it with a hashtag on SNS, you will receive a prize package through a lottery.

It's hard to say without seeing the game in action, but the trailer looks promising. The game appears to be a more realistic take on kart racing, with better graphics than previous installments. I'm curious to see how the cross-platform play will work, and whether it will be well-received by fans of the series.

Kartrider has been dogged by its reputation as an epigone of Mario Kart for a long time, and I wonder if it has ever made a clean transformation this time.
